Product facts
Our certifications ensure organic fibers and a high-level environmental standard throughout the entire supply chain as well as the workers social rights and working conditions.
GOTS - GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain. It includes everything from farming, harvesting, production, processing, manufacturing to packaging and branding. There are strict regulations about chemical use, recycling and waste management. Whereas the cultivation of conventional cotton relies heavily upon the use of toxic pesticides and GMO, organic cotton employs crop rotation, beneficial insects and other natural methods to ensure the health of the soil and water resources. GOTS also requires compliance with social criteria regarding working environment, salary, working hours and child labor.
LIVING WAGES
Together with Another Textile Company we are working to provide living wages where the workers in the garment factories are paid extra to compensate the difference between government set minimum wages and actual living wages.
ZERO MISSION
All freights involved in the making of Barunder garment has been compensated through ZeroMission. The carbon emissions are compensated through forest preserving projects in the district Khasi Hills in Northern India. It is a strategy to reduce fossil fuel dependency and emissions of greenhouse gases which leads to decreased ecological and carbon footprints.
FAIRTRADE
All of the cotton used in Barunder is Fairtrade certified, traded, audited and sourced from Fairtrade producers. Fairtrade means fairer trading conditions and opportunities for cotton producers in developing countries to invest in their businesses and communities for a sustainable future. By purchasing a Fairtrade certified product you contribute to Fairtrade’s efforts to empower Fairtrade cotton producers to gain access to significant new market opportunities with the potential to deliver major social and environmental impact in their farms and communities. A proportion of the purchasing price of Fairtrade certified cotton is invested by producers in social, environmental and economic development projects.
GRS - GLOBAL RECYCLE STANDARD
The buttons used for Barunder garments contains 100% polyester, made from recycled PET-bottles and plastics. Like GOTS, The Global Recycled Standard verifies recycled material and tracks it from the source to the final product. The GRS includes strict social, environmental, and chemical requirements.

- Feel free to dry it outdoors if possible, let it dry in the wind.
